I have been a nurse for 6 years. I started at the current institution I work at as a new graduate nurse and have covered most units in the hospital as an ICU float pool nurse. I currently work in the pediatric PACU and am grateful to work in a teaching hospital where there is ample opportunity to do research, and evidence based practice is the foundation for our practice. I am also proud to say we are a Magnet designated institution and I appreciate that nurses have autonomy and have different platforms and unique opportunities to use their voice. I recently completed my clinical ladder project, which required a research quality improvement project and ironically this is where my research question stemmed from for this course. I have been teaching yoga for 15 years and am passionate about meditation and mindfulness and have been eager to merge the two professions of yoga and nursing. For my clinical ladder project, I implemented yoga classes at the hospital and measured nursing burnout based on pre- and post-evaluations. The results were outstanding and showed improvements across the board when measuring nursing burnout post yoga and meditation classes.
